It took me years to get my wings and i didnt even realize i was being watched and that i was wanted. Regardless of the few sketch kids who either have spent to much time on tour or bought their wings and pinned themselves, when someone sees you have your wings, they know youv been around a minute and that your trustworthy, and most importantly, that you are family. Having a pair of wings on you does a lot for you. Wings are a big deal, and i didnt even understand that until i got pinned. You earn wings by bringing your energy to the scene day in day out, letting your light shine, and proving time after time that you are FAMILY. Is there any "pin makers" community where people can share tips? Why are there so many Bassnectar and STS9 pins, but no pins for some other popular artists? (i.e. How does copyright work for musician logos and popular cartoon characters etc.? Is it pretty much just "don't get caught"? How many pins are typically in a series? Are you not "allowed" to reprint one of your popular designs? What material / printing technique is considered the best to use? What are the best companies that print custom pins? (so far I've found this one: ) Here are a few things I've been wondering: I'd love tips from anyone with experience in this, Google hasn't been much help so far. As a graphic designer with some good ideas, I'd love to learn how to set up my own online pin shop and sell them at festivals, but I'm not quite sure how to start. I went to Electric Forest this year and was completely blown away by the incredible pin designs I saw.
